Bear Scratch

Katmai National Park & Preserve, AK

I have been watching this all day. At Explore.org they have a series of great web cams. This image was from the Katmai National Park & Preserve, in Alaska. When we were on our cruise a few weeks ago in South East Alaska, we only got to see and photograph on Brown Bear, but he was a swimming bear and a Coastal Brown Bear.

Next time I go to Alaska, and there will be a next time in the near future. I plan on taking a guided trip to shoot Brown Bears in the wild… No, no, no, I mean shoot as in photograph.

While watching this webcam I counted as many as fifteen Brown Bears on the screen at one time. That is alot of bear, fishing in a very small space at the same time.

Check it out it’s worth a watch. http://explore.org/#!/live-cams/player/river-watch-brown-bear-salmon-cams

Mounted on the floating bridge over Brooks River, these cams provide an unprecedented view of migrating salmon and bears “snorkeling” for them, both above and below the water. – See more at: http://explore.org/#!/live-cams/player/river-watch-brown-bear-salmon-cams
