Life in a Day
Life in a Day…
About a year ago I read about a film project that would take video from ordinary, regular people from around the world in a 24 hour period. The idea was to have people like you and I take a part of our everyday life and share it on a YouTube channel. These clips would then be edited and parsed down from 4500 hours of video clips into a 90 minute movie.
LIFE IN A DAY is an extraordinary, user-generated, feature-length documentary shot on a single day – July 24, 2010. A deeply personal, powerful film, directed by Kevin Macdonald, produced by Ridley Scott and filmed by the worldwide YouTube community, this critically acclaimed documentary is now coming to a theater near you.
On July 24, 2010, thousands of people around the world uploaded videos of their day to YouTube to take part in LIFE IN A DAY, a historic cinematic experiment to create a documentary film about a single day on earth.
Oscar-winning director Kevin Macdonald whittled down over 4500 hours of footage into a 90-minute film that wowed audiences at the Sundance, Berlin and SXSW Film Festivals earlier this year.
On July 24, 2011, LIFE IN A DAY will continue its journey when it premieres in theatres across the U.S. Additional screenings will be added July 29.
