My First HDR
While in the desert for a STALA Convention I had the opportunity to stay right in front of the side-walk to the La Quinta Resort Spa building.
The day before when I returned from Breakfast, I noticed the shadow of a King Palm Tree being cast on the front of the building. I didn’t have my camera with me at the time, but I knew I would have a second chance the next day.
I shot this manually bracketed (my camera only does three images in auto bracket), five exposure image hand held.
I knew this image would make a great HDR photograph. It had all the right elements. Grate contrast, vibrant colors and good subject matter. The trick was waiting for the right time to catch the shadow in the right spot, not to early and not to late.
Te best part of this was the post processing. I used the new Nik Software HDR Efex Pro plug-in for Adobe Lightroom. It was simple and easy. I love the new Nik Software suite. I have the Complete Collection and I can use it with Lightroom and Photoshop.
I hope you enjoy this image as much as I do…
